We are looking for energized individuals who have an innovative mind-set and are fueled by a passion for technology to join our leadership development program. The Disney Technology Management Rotation (TMR) program provides the opportunity for technologists with advanced degrees to gain valuable work experience providing leadership, management and oversight to the design, development, delivery, operation, and implementation of high-priority technology solutions across The Walt Disney Company (TWDC). Our TMR Associates provide leadership and management services for existing projects in the fields of engineering, infrastructure services, technology strategy, and business analysis. This two-year program includes management of projects through six-month rotations, ensuring that Associates have maximum exposure to Disney’s technology organization and are able to leverage their expertise across multiple high-priority projects.

Candidate Qualifications


MBA degree with a BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or a Masters in Technology with a BA/BS in Business or a related field.



5+ years of relevant technology industry work experience


Expert knowledge of several technical specialty areas or comprehensive knowledge of many technical specialty areas


Leverages expert knowledge to anticipate a wide range of future needs and opportunities and facilitates development of complex solutions


Develops and manages effective working relationships with other departments, groups and staff with whom work must be coordinated or interfaced


Broad business acumen and proven influencing and collaboration skills


Exceptional ability to present ideas in a convincing and compelling manner to a small or large audience in multiple levels within the organization

Technology Leadership

  • Work with leadership to oversee the implementation of complex and interrelated technology programs and platforms enabling new capabilities to be rolled out while balancing operational and availability risks
  • Review, evaluate and inform appropriate areas of emerging technologies and potential use for increased user experience
  • Foster a culture of collaboration among the corporate and segment technology teams and business partners, and endeavor to create tools, platforms and capabilities that increase overall productivity through sharing of solutions and leveraging technology among various teams
  • Maintain strong relationships with Service Management and Technical Relationship Management organizations to ensure that customer projects accurately reflect customer requirements and align with forecasted demand
  • Provide continuous improvement recommendations through analysis, process review, metrics reporting and program maturity tracking
  • Assist in the evaluation of new hardware and software solutions to ensure fit with existing frameworks / landscapes and strategic goals

Translating Concepts into Action

  • Work with internal cross-functional teams and external technology partners to prioritize, estimate and complete projects in support of business needs
  • Translate complex functional, technical, and business requirements into solution designs
  • Oversee the development of project business cases and schedules ensuring appropriate controls are in place to monitor and assess changes and impact
  • Communicate status and financial reports to leadership and relevant stakeholders

Consulting, Strategy, and Execution

  • Define strategies and solutions for technology services and operations that align with all business unit goals
  • Develop business application technology strategies and business justifications
  • Work with internal cross-functional teams and external technology partners to prioritize, estimate and complete projects
  • Actively collaborate with technology teams to advance strategies that enhance TWDC technology capabilities and services and align to business priorities, incorporating trends and opportunities
  • Ensure solutions and services leverage Disney’s Enterprise infrastructure, network, architecture and security capabilities and are compliant with all regulatory and policy requirements
  • Proactively engage with business segment technology leadership, and business partners as needed, to understand their business application technology needs, constraints and drivers and endeavor to deliver solutions that solve their business needs—ideally, that can be cross utilized
  • Partner on all aspects of the technology lifecycle including requirements, product and services management, planning, procurement, installation, support and retirement in conjunction with leadership team
  • Serve as a bridge between business unit executives and technology / system teams to ensure a broad understanding of business-wide objectives and enable disciplined and proactive decisions regarding investments
  • Provide insight and expertise to the design and implementation of technology solutions and process improvements to support current and future strategies, emerging business and functional requirements

How is the TMR program different from other jobs at Disney?

Disney’s various business segments work differently and have a history of their own. There is diversity in technology as well as work culture. The rotation program provides an opportunity to learn and experience the different business segments, gain a better understanding of how the company works as a whole, and develop into a multifaceted leader who can help influence the future of the company.

Do the years of work experience matter?

Given the short length of our six month rotations, there is a steep learning curve and a relatively small window to make a meaningful impact.  This requires professionals with a reasonable amount of experience (five to eight years). Exact years of experience are flexible depending on the relevance and quality of the work.

Does it matter if one does not have the engineering experience?

Due to the nature of the rotation projects, Associates are most successful if they have a combined expertise in both engineering and management, whether that be obtained through education or work experience.  All projects are technology-based, so all candidates will have to demonstrate technological savvy.
